Our Staff would like to thank everyone who attended, contributed, exhibited and volunteered. All of our DJs and Performers. It took a multitude of volunteers to bring this year’s birthday celebration together. We had a great time.
If you enjoyed this year’s event and want to be a part next year, keep an eye on this blog and stay in the SLB Community Group for notification of next year’s “giant birthday party on the grid.”
We would like to thank everyone who contributed, volunteered and exhibited. All the DJs and Performers and the builders. It took an army of volunteers to bring this year’s birthday celebration together.

We would like to thank everyone who exhibited, performed,
visited or volunteered for this year’s SLB Community Celebration.
This year we provided a smaller, more intimate event.
We hoped that 11 sims for 11 years was not only symbolic
but provided an opportunity for us to slim down the size aspect and amp up the quality.
We would like to thank the SL Community for supporting this
event every year. Without you whether it be in the form of
volunteers, entertainment, art or visitors; our birthday event would not be as collectively successful as it has been this year.
Every year we use this space to connect with you as you get ready
to go back to your regularly scheduled SL. We remind you to mark your calendars for next April. This is when we start the process
of preparing a city that rises from nothing, a schedule of great
entertainment, an army of volunteers and an array of exhibits
built by you.
If you enjoyed the event and want to be a part next year, please join our new group SLB Community Celebration
(appears in the profiles of Doc Gascoigne or Diana Renoir)
or SLB Community Group
for notification of next year’s festivities.
It was and always has been an honor and my pleasure to once again work with all of you.
I am posting this blog entry to issue a challenge to all of you. While our Flickr group is filling up quickly with great photos, I am a little disappointed to see the photos missing the most important thing—YOU. SL11B is a celebration by the residents, FOR the residents.
Applications for all Exhibitors, Performers, Speakers and Volunteers have now closed, and it looks like you guy REALLY love birthdays! We had 426 exhibitor applications, 440 Performer applications and over 300 volunteers! Now begins the task of sorting through all your applications and figuring out how to fit you all into 243 plots and 3 stages.. Our first priority is exhibitors, as the sims open for you lot on the 30th of May – not as far away as you’d think! Acceptances for you will start coming in the next few days and will continue over the next week. Please be patient as we have a lot to work through! We’ll post the dates that performers can expect to hear from us in a while, but that will be closer to our opening date of June 22 – we won’t forget you, promise!
Once you get your acceptance, please be patient some more! We know you’re dying to get going on site but please read and follow the procedure in your acceptance email and don’t IM the group before May 30 asking to be let in. It won’t happen. I still have half the roads to lay down! Not to mention the toilet facilities! And the caterers. Don’t get me started on the caterers…
One final thing about water plots. These are EXTREMELY limited this year and so will be going to exhibitors that really need them. If all you need is shallow water or part water, we can do that on a land plot. We apologise if you asked for a water plot but didn’t get it.
Share your passion and knowledge with residents as a presenter through a lecture or discussion. Have a skill you want to teach? Lead a class at the Auditorium.
Are you a poet, dancer, performance artist, spoken-word artist,
educator, community group or have an interesting topic you want to share with the community?
We’re looking for your energetic participation at our Auditorium.
Our Auditorium venue is a conference center, classroom, small live performance venue or lecture hall. If you can imagine it we can try and accommodate it.
Apply to present at the Auditorium. Applications close May 20.
Our sims have arrived! The land team are busily preparing the groundwork needed, and quite frankly, this year the infrastructure builds are the best ever!
This year we have 11 sims (that’s one for every year of SL), making for a smaller but more streamlined event. Smaller in size, but not smaller in energy! We have managed to fit all the usual buildings and event venues into a more compact area without compromising on quality.
What does this mean for you? If you want to exhibit at SL11B, you need to get your application in quickly, as spaces will be more limited than in the past. You have until May 20 to submit your application — but why not beat the rush and apply now?
